I need your suggestions.

In 2007 I lost 80 pounds. In 2008 I gained 20. In 2009 I would like to lose 50, or at least be on my way to getting there.

Comparatively, the first part was the easiest. Then it just sorta plateaued. I'm kicking it back into gear now by rejoining the gym. Today was 2.2 miles on the treadmill. I'm focusing on just the treadmill for the first couple weeks. Then implementing some other things into it like an elliptical for a few weeks. Then a combination of cardio & weights.

Here's where you come in. I don't know if you've ever noticed the little tags or labels at the bottom of each post. For example, "Around the Bend" or "family" or "coffee" or "working out", etc. I need a new label for this specific goal. I need a name for this like "Jennifer Version 2.0" or "New Jennifer". But not those, because those are lame.

I plan on blogging about this because it helps me be more accountable, so I want to have the appropriate label for it. So, let me know your thoughts! Go!

  1. Yea for Jennifer! Were you saying that losing the 80 was easy compared to gaining the 20? ;-) Yeah for the gym! I'd encourage you to go for the elyptical soon! That is my new favorite machine. It's a little weird to get used to, but you'll get the hang of it soon enough. I keep gravitating toward it since I realized how many more calories I burn there vs. the other equipment.

    And for a name...hmmmmm.... How about "Biggest Loser"... hehe :-)

  2. for burning calories there is almost NOTHING that beats the elliptical. but don't expect it to really increase your cardio endurance. treadmill is MUCH better for that. strength training in addition to cardio is the best best way to do it cuz you'll tone while you're losing weight. no suggestions for the tag, though. will have to ponder....

  3. Funny... I just wrote out some goals for 2009, and one of them is to lose 10 pounds in the first quarter and 10 more in the second quarter. Hopefully we will both meet our goals!

  5. PS I am trying to lose weight too - Claire is 8 months old and I still have at least 25 lbs baby weight to lose!!!

    Kelli, sorry I was not clear. Obviously it's easy (too easy) to gain the pounds. You know what I mean! :)

  7. I like JenLight ot Thinnifer - both are fun! : ) As far as exercise, you'll like the elliptical - it's fun! Another really good calorie burner is the stairclimber. It's a little intimidating, but its a GREAT way to burn the 'extra'! : ) Good luck dear, I'm right along with you here in Tejas - doing the same stuff! : )
