Upcoming Events
September 16, 2008In case you haven’t noticed, my blogging the last week or so has been pretty nonexistent. I apologize for the incoherence of the last blog. Even as I was writing it, I knew I’d later be apologizing for it. Oh well. Sometimes you just gotta get that out.
Has my disappearance from the blogosphere been intentional?
Good question. Perhaps subconsciously. I’m working some things out in my head, rather than on paper/computer.
Speaking of paper/computer, I will be sharing at a later date some exciting things involving paper and/or computers for the month of October.
But for now I just want to let you know about a few things going on locally to make sure you're all in the loop. I know how much I hate being left out of the loop, so here you go.
1. Thursday, September 18, 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Expo After Hours at the Century Center!
“What is that??” you’re probably saying. It’s a great time to wander and chat and browse booths from local companies. Not good enough? How about you get to sample caterer’s fine foods and be entertained by live jazz? Is that any better? You need a business card to get in. More info here.
2. Thursday, September 18, 6:00 PM
Movie Premiere at College Football Hall of Fame!
How often does South Bend get a movie screening?!? Not often! They’re rolling out the red carpet, literally, to welcome stars from the upcoming movie “The Express.” Dennis Quaid & Rob Brown will be arriving sometime between 6 and 7. While you need a personal invite to see the movie in the hall (I’m still waiting for mine), anyone is invited to come welcome the stars. The red carpet will be right on the gridiron. How appropriate. More info here.
3. Saturday, September 20, 11 AM - 1 PM
Free Child ID Program at LLW McDonalds west of Bendix
Get your child photographed and fingerprinted and take home all of your child's vital information to store in a safe place. Local police reps will be present.
4. Sunday, September 21, 10 AM - 4 PM
Fall Cut-A-Thon at Downtown's Emblazon Salon, Hair Crafters on LWE, Illusions by Ironwood & 23, and University Stylists in LaFortune at ND.
For a minimum donation of just $15, enjoy a professional haircut, express manicure or massage! This is a fundraiser for S-O-S of Madison Center, the Rape Crisis Center for the county. First come, first served, no appointments. Refreshments provided at Emblazon, not sure about the other locations.
