I'm not sure how this blog never got posted last week.

I'm doing laundry, making dinner.

My doorbell rings. That's weird. I look out my window, unable to see the front door unfortunately, but able to look for a familiar vehicle. None.

I was in decent enough loungewear that I could be in front of someone else. So I went to the door, and for the first time, was prepared to actually not open it. With everything that's been going on lately, I HAVE to be paranoid.

It was just my neighbor with some of our mail that had been delivered to her by mistake.

We conversed a bit, and then she randomly asked if I had surgery. That was the first time anybody has asked me about it. Part of the loungewear I was wearing was a tank top, and it was revealing the scar. It was an awkward conversation, and I tried to take the blame for the poor scaring, rather than letting her blame my doctor.

I don't know. WAS there anything my doctor could have done differently? I guess it doesn't matter now. I might see a plastic surgeon.

My neighbor said it looked just like her scar from her heart surgery. Maybe that should be story from now on.

On a side note, I graduated from Physical Therapy today.

Sorry to be a downer, but it's been kind of a downer sort of day. I've never hated fall this much.

I won't go into details, but this is my current status, and it pretty much sums up today.

This post has little to do with cleaning, other than the fact that it pretty much hasn't happened yet.

Instead I spent all evening running errands. I had to buy a bunch of stuff. Boring stuff like tissues, toilet bowl cleaner, fabric softener, etc. And I got a ton of groceries. I don't even know the last time my cart was that full!

So, my fridge is ready for my company, but my apartment is NOT.

I wish I had some downtime at work this week. I'd definitely take at least a half day off.

But it's non-stop craziness. At least it makes the workday go by faster.

Well, the cleaning will have to wait til tomorrow. I'm exhausted and, thus, off to bed!

Read THIS! Then tell me how that happened so I can make sure it NEVER HAPPENS TO ME!!!

I almost teared up upon reading this.

But, considering someone once told me that Scarlett Johansson reminded them of ME (??), it doesn't seem as heart breaking.

Why do I hate cleaning soooo much?

Maybe because it seems never ending. Ya know, once you get it all done, it's already getting dusty/dirty again.

My house is definitely dustier than others. It's 89 years old if memory serves correct, and it tends to be quick on the cobwebs.

So, that is discouraging. Literally just a couple days after dusting, I've seen spiderwebs appear.

Never the less, it must be done. I have company coming in 3 days. Fortunately I have Monday and Tuesday evening available to work on it. And a bit of time now too. So, here I go!

During the month of October I will be in a Writers Club. I'll just copy & paste what the group leader sent out, rather than try to explain it myself:

Hello other writerly and creative types,

Sorry this is an extremely late notice, but I need to write another novel, and I figure what better month than October and what better way than to have others join me? I know I've talked to a few of you about this already, so besides my novel, other examples that people are committing to write (or draw) are a full length play, a novella, a graphic novel, and a comic book.

I've done this with some of you before, but basically the way it works is you tell me what you're going to write (or draw) over the course of the next month. The ultimate goal is to set a deadline for ourselves and to crank out something with a beginning, middle, and end by the end of the month. You tell me what you're writing, and we just send out updates periodically throughout the month, "Yea, it's going well," "Blah, it's going horrible," etc. The point is not to have a masterpiece completed. The point is to have something completed. And I find this is easier if I tell others my goal, get others to work on their own projects, and give us all a deadline when they all have to be done.

Also, let me know if it's ok to share your email address with everyone. That way you'll be included in other back and forth emails. Otherwise, I'll just keep you BCCed like this one.

So, to recap,
1. Tell me your writing goal. Mine is a 50,000+ word novel.
2. Tell me if I can include your email address publicly. (There are currently 10 of you I am sending this email to.)

Thanks and good luck!

This is the third time I've participated, and it's based off of NaNoWriMo, the National Novel Writing Month. It's officially in November, but our group is unofficially doing it in October. I encourage you all to do something to be creative. I know many of you/us are busy (Lo, this means you), but if you do have an extra moment, tap into some of the creativity that so often goes unused.

I also think it's great to have a tangible month long goal. I'm really excited about this.

My personal goal is to work in the novel I started 3 years ago.

Let me know if we have any other "writerly and creative types" folk out there who would be interested in joining.
